Skiing at Auli:

Auli, 16 kms from Joshimath, is an ideal winter resort. The divine slopes of Auli, coupled with state-of-the-art facilities have made it comparable with the best in the world.

The snowy slopes of Auli, are girdled by stately coniferous and oak forests, which cut the velocity of wind to the minimum. Auli offers a panoramic view of many Himalayan peaks.

Auli offers perfect skiing conditions. Seasonal skiers, have a clean stretch of 10-20 kms of absolute virgin slopes, to ski on. These slopes provide excellent opportunities for cross - country, slalom and downhill skiing events. GMVN has snow beaters, which keep the slopes, ideal for skiing at all times.

Travel Information
Road:
Auli is easily accessible from Rishikesh (253 kms), Haridwar (277 kms), Dehradun (298 kms), and Delhi (500 kms). Auli is a further 16 kms from Joshimath, and can be reached by road.

Rail:
The nearest railhead is Haridwar.
Connecting trains - (a) Howrah - Dehradun (9 UP),
(b) Delhi - Dehradun (41 UP), and
(c) Mumbai - Dehradun (19 UP).

Air:
The nearest airport is Jolly Grant, 273 kms from Joshimath and 17 kms from Rishikesh
