Botanically the district can be divided 
    into two regions, eastern and western. Mango and Khajur trees are found on 
    suitable sites in the district. The forest in the Banswara district, consisting 
    mainly of teak is situated on the slopes of the Aravali hills. 
    
    The crop mainly consists of teak. Malwa trees are found in the agriculture 
    fields. On higher slopes, teak is gradually replaced by miscellaneous species 
    mainly Sharu, Gurjan, Mokha and Salar mixed with Anwala, Pai, bia, Tanaj, 
    Kesai etc. An open crop of Salar has ultimately replaced teak. 
    
    The wildlife includes a large variety of animals, reptiles and fish. 
    
    Among the big games tiger has been reported absent and panther if found rarely. 
    Chinkara, Ronj and four horned antelope are noticed rarely in Rohal. Sambar, 
    wild Pig and Chital, which used to frequent these forests, have become extinct. 
    Squirrels, lizards and snakes of various types are found almost in all parts 
    of the forest. 
    
    Birds are common & varied. Grey jungle fowl, red spur fowl and Grey partridge 
    are confined to very remote parts of the forest. The black drongo, grey shrike, 
    green bee-eater, reduented bulbul, parrot, jungle crow, house sparrow, purple 
    sun birds, wood pecker, white spotted fantail, fly catcher, common myna etc. 
    are the other common birds found in the district.
    
    Major carps, catfish and other fish varieties are available from the waters 
    of Mahi, the Anas, the Chap and the Airav.
    Among the major carps may be counted the rohu, khuris or sarsi, kalbose or 
    kalot, narian katla mahasheer while the cat fish variety include patola, firai, 
    saul lanchi, singhara and singhi. 
    
    Special Weather Phenomena: 
    
    In October and to lesser extent in the monsoon months, the district and its 
    neighborhood is affected by depressions and cyclone storms, causing widespread 
    rain. 
    
    Thunder storms occur in the summer months and the rain the southwest monsoon 
    months is sometimes associated with thunder.
