Chandigarh offers a rich fare of places of tourist interest
within short intra city distances, amidst a clean environment.
Capitol
Complex (Sector 1):
Though all of Chandigarh carries Le
Corbusier's stamp, Capitol Complex, presently the administrative hub of
two States, contains the best of his talent. The High Court, Legislative
Assembly, Secretaritat, Open hand Monumnet, Geometric Hill, Tower of
Shadows, all examples of his designing excellence, form part of the
complex at the northern end of Chandigarh.
Rock Garden (Sector 2):
World acclaimed rock
garden is unique to the city. It consists of art objects, fashioned from
industrial and Urban waste. A tourist spot must on the itinerary of
every visitor.

Lake (Sector 1):
Man made picturesque Sukhna lake
in the foothills of Shivalik range is an idyllic resort for fun and
frolic offering water sports activities boating, yatching, water skiing

Bougainvillae
Park (Sector 3):
The 20 acre park is popular for its
vibrant colours that ranges from golden, purple, white to magenta and
mauve.
Rose Garden (Sector 16):
30 acres of beautifully landscaped garden contains nearly 1600
varieties of roses. Truly magnificent during spring season when rose
festival takes place here.
Shanti
Kunj (Sector 16):
Beyond the Rose Garden down south, in
Sector 16-C, the Leisure Valley becomes Shanti Kunj, a "Nook of
Tranquillity". Ideal for those seeking the "bliss of solitude"
in the comforting lap of nature.
Terraced
Garden (Sector 33):
Spread over 30 acres, seasonal
flowers are grown in terraced parterres. The garden has a wealth of
material for students of botany.
Topiary
Park (Sector 35):
Many animals shaped out of creepers
and bushes form the Topiary Park. A large variety of ornamental plants
add to the park's curious charm.

Museum Complex
(Sector 10-C):

The cultural zone of
the leisure valley. The building complex designed by Le Corbusier itself
is a marvel of architecture.
Government
Museum and Art Gallery:

The Museum
houses vast range of paintings and sculptures historical as well as
contemporary.
City Museum:
(Monday Closed)
It houses original sketches, photographs,
plans, models and documents reflecting the evolution of the city from
the drawing board stage to its realization giving sequential
architectural display.
Apart from the above, one could visit
Punjab University Sector 14, International Dolls Museum Sector 23,
National Gallery of Portraits Sector 17, Manimajra Fort etc.

"Secular city" offers places of
worship in most of the sectors for almost all religions.
